One line a day

Every now and then we all find ourselves thinking in two years I'll be doing this and my life will be like that because we all have goals we want to achieve and dreams we hope come true. 

Today I came across a very interesting notebook that can help us keep track of this. It is a "One line a day - A 5 year memory book", an agenda kind of notebook that differentiates itself from the ones we are used to in two ways:

1. Every day is divided into 5 spaces so that you can fill in the same day page several years in a row, hence see the evolution with just a quick glance.

2. You only have space to write a line, which means that you can just jot down quick and concise thoughts and/or ideas. 

I think that this notebook is a great idea, especially because it can help you see whether or not you are meeting your short and long term goals, if you are living your dreams and see how your life and way of thinking changes as the years go by. 

It might sound like the journal a young girl would keep, but every now and then it is nice to have something to go back to in order to remember how your life and thoughts were at a certain time of your life, especially now that everything changes and happens at the speed of light. If you are trying to develop an idea or project this notebook can help you keep track of it and its evolution too.

6 inspirational quotes by Audrey Hepburn

For some reason, lately I've been going through a sort of "Audrey Hepburn obsession". I started watching some of her movies, and I'm loving each one of them in their own special way. Going through some of her quotes, I've discovered that she was a very optimistic person, especially when it came to life and challenges.

Seeing that right now many of us have exams or are overwhelmed with work and projects, and that sometimes we just feel like giving up or lose faith in ourselves by saying or thinking 'I can't do this', I think that some of these quotes might help us get back some of that self confidence we tend to lose in ourselves.

There are also a couple of quotes that remind us how important it is not to try and control our future, as it often creates itself in the best possible way. 

1. I was asked to act when I couldn't act. I was asked to sing 'Funny Face' when I couldn't sing, and dance with Fred Astaire when I couldn't dance - and do all kinds of things I wasn't prepared for. Then I tried like mad to cope with it.


2. I decided, very early on, just to accept life unconditionally; I never expected it to do anything special for me, yet I seemed to accomplish far more than I had ever hoped. Most of the time it just happened to me without my ever seeking it.


3. I've been lucky. Opportunities don't often come along. So, when they do, you have to grab them.

La falta de comprensión en la comunicación es algo que se da muy a menudo. Nos dejamos guiar por nuestros prejuicios y por las cosas que ocupan nuestra mente, y no es rara la vez en la que contestamos lo que no debemos. Este es el caso del vídeo que quiero compartir hoy con vosotros. El caso es que ésta falta de comprensión es genial, ¡me encanta!

Our daily conversations are full of misunderstandings because we tend to let our prejudices guide our understanding of what others tell us. This usually makes us answer the wrong thing, which is exactly what happens in this video. However, I think the misinterpretation leads to a great mother-daughter conversation. Tiffany Tips

Today I happened to open Tifanny's web page, and I found something I really liked. They have a section called Tiffany Tips which I would like to share with you, in case you haven't seen them. They might help you reorient  your holiday Spirit. 

As you read them you might thikn 'they are addressed to couples and I don't have one', but take them as tips and apply them to your own personal situation. Most of them can be done with anyone, not necessarily a significant other. These holidays are a time for sharing, don't forget that.

Este viral de L'Oreal no es precisamente nuevo, pero nos sirve para recordar, que hay que ir más allá de las apariencias, puesto que el maquillaje, tanto a nivel físico como a nivel de personalidad, lo tapa todo. 

L'oreal's viral, reminds us that we should stop judging everything by its cover, since there's always going to be some kind of make-up, be it physical or personality wise, that covers the real truth.

Amistad y Coca-Cola 2x1

En febrero, publicamos la acción que realizó Coca-Cola con el Happiness truck, y ahora, unos meses más tarde, nos encontramos con que han vuelto a realizar una acción, que da felicidad pero a través de la amistad y del trabajo en equipo. La nueva acción consiste en la Friendship Machine, una máquina que promueve la amistad puesto que hay un botón de 2x1. Lo curioso no es la promoción, sino que la máquina tiene una característica que la diferencia de las demás: es mucho más alta, y para acceder al botón se necesita la ayuda de al menos otra persona más. Cualquiera que se quiera beneficiar de esta promoción tiene que encontrar a otro que esté dispuest a compartir ese momento con él o ella para ayudarle a llegar al botón. 

Personalmente me parece una muy buena iniciativa ya que nos recuerda que por mucho que vivamos en un mundo donde cada uno vive la mayor parte del tiempo pendiente de su ombligo, siguen habiendo miles de cosas que no podemos hacer solos, y donde necesitamos al menos a otra persona a nuestro lado. Es el trabajo en equipo y las cosas compartidas las que realmente dan la felicidad, sino, ¿por qué siempre que nos pasa algo bueno lo primero que queremos hacer es compartirlo con una persona que no sea nosotros mismos?

Last February, we published the Happiness truck, which was an amazing advertising action carried out by Coca-Cola. Now, a few months later, they've realized that it was about time to do something else, thus creating the Friendship Machine. It is one special machine, as it has a 2x1 button. What I find particularly curious about this is not the promotion, but the fact that it is a special machine, as it is taller, thus making it hard to reach the button. It takes at least two people to reach it, which is what promotes the idea of friendship and team work, as otherwise, no one would be able to access the promotion!
I personally believe it to be a great initiative, as it reminds us that even if we live in a world where we only care about ourselves, there are still moments and times where we do need others in order to work out things. It is the team work and those things we share with others that truely make us happy, otherwise, how can you explain that every time something good happens to us, the first thing we do is run and find those we care about in order to share it with them?

¿Qué os parecería esto como futuro? No estaría mal poder controlarlo todo constantemente, ¿verdad? Aunque sería un poco agobiante eso de que te puedan localizar hasta mientras te lavas los dientes.
Con este este anuncio Corning ha roto un poco con los estereotipos a los que estamos acostumbrados. Por si no os habéis fijado, es la mujer la que se va a trabajar, y el hombre el que se queda en casa. Curioso, ¿eh?

With this ad, Corning has managed to overcome those stereotypes we are so used to. They show the woman going off to work, and the husband staying home. Strange, right?
